My name is Yurii Mikhailiuk. I am the author and creator of the SIP calculator concept. While the idea itself isn’t entirely new, the implementation and the chosen calculation method are truly unique. You can learn more about the various ways to use the SIP calculator in the article here.
So why did the idea of creating an online calculator arise — one that can instantly calculate the required number of SIP panels for building a private home, holiday house, garage, sauna, utility block, and more?
The story began in 2015, when I started working at a company that mass-produced SIP panels. Like most manufacturing businesses, the main goal was large-scale sales. The company already had regular customers, but it was also eager to grow and expand. In order to attract new potential clients, it became clear that bold changes and non-standard solutions were required.
To significantly increase the number of clients, the management decided to build an infrastructure for processing direct orders from end-users — people interested in having their own private homes built from SIP panels. Using partner construction teams, the company could fulfil these building orders.
My development of this calculator immediately yielded great results for the sales managers. It simplified and sped up the process of calculating the price for a future SIP house. At a time when competitors were taking several hours or even a full day to produce estimates, our company could deliver them within minutes. Furthermore, it allowed sales staff to discuss multiple design options with a potential customer over the phone and quickly identify the most suitable one.
Sadly, the war between russia and Ukraine had a serious impact on our business. I had to change jobs several times. However, the idea of making this calculator public and continuing its development never left me.
Since autumn 2022, this SIP calculator has had its own dedicated website, focused entirely on the idea:
“How to make the calculations for such complex structures as private houses simpler, faster, and more accessible?“
